Q: Can I reserve a specific car?

A: Yes, with at least a 2-week advance reservation.

 

Q: Do I need to buy insurance if I have my own?

A: No, but at the low cost of extra protection it's always a comfort to have it available.

 

Q: Can I pay cash?

A: Yes, but we will still need a security deposit on a major credit card.

 

Q: Can I pay by check?

A: Yes, but we will still need a security deposit on a major credit card.

 

Q: What documents are required to rent a car (license, ID, etc.)?

A: A valid driver license and major credit card. An ATM debut card with a VISA/MASTERCARD logo is also acceptable. Check for restrictions.

 

Q: If a car id rented in my name, can my spouse/or significant other drive it?

A: Yes, only if he/she has a valid driver's license and is listed as a secondary driver.

 

Q: What do I do if the car has a flat tire, or if I lock my keys in the vehicle?

A: Roadside service is available 24 hours a day. Call our office during normal business hours or for after hours service, listen to our 24 hour message. It will direct you to the right help 24 hours a day.

NOTE: These services are available for your convenience. There may be a charge for the use of this service. We only pay for the charges when it is due to the failure of the rental car.

 

Q: Are child safety and infant seats available?

A: Yes, we offer child safety, toddler and infant seats. Since there may be limited availability for these you should reserve these well in advance. There can be a fee up to $10 per day.

 

Q: What are gasoline charges?

A: You must bring the car back with the same amount of gas that it states on your contract when you sign the rental agreement. You will pay more for gas at our facility.

 

Q: What are the minimum age requirements?

A: Minimum age policies differ. Avalon does require renters to be at least 21 years old. Persons under 25 years of age will be charged an under age driver fee of $9.99 per day.

 

Q: Do I need a major credit card?

A: Yes, we accept all major credit cards, and debut cards with a Visa or Master Card logo ONLY.

 

We DO NOT accept cash deposits.

 

Q: Can I let someone else drive the rental car?

A: You will need to list additional drivers on your contract at the time of pick up. If someone else drives the car without the rental car agency's permission your contract will be void. For your protection, please add the driver to your contract before allowing them to drive.

 

Q: Are there any drop-off charges or extra fees?

A: Drop-off charges and extra fees may apply if a car is returned to a different location than where it was picked up. Check with a rental agent for any added expenses.

 

Q: Do I need to buy coverage, insurance or damage waivers at the counter?

A: Check to see if your personal or business car insurance covers you in a rental car. This will save you worry and money when asked "Do you want coverage?". Some credit cards have rental car coverage, too. Your personal or corporate auto insurance may cover Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) or Loss Damage Waiver (LDW).

 

Q: If I'm from overseas, will Avalon Transportation accept an "International Driver's License" or Permit?

A: Yes, we accept International Driver's Licenses and Permits. This may be subject to evaluation.
